About Curtin University
Curtin University is a public university in Western Australia and the state's largest. It began in 1966 as the Western Australian Institute of Technology, building on programs run by the Perth Technical School and College, became a university in 1986, and was renamed after Prime Minister John Curtin.
The main campus is at Bentley, south-east of central Perth, with smaller sites in the city and at Midland. The Western Australian School of Mines operates from Kalgoorlie, and there are sites in other regional towns. Curtin also teaches overseas, with campuses in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. Its strengths lie in engineering, mining and resources, health sciences, business, and science, with research in areas such as robotics, space and astronomy, and sustainability. Curtin is a member of the Australian Technology Network of universities.

Ranks as published; bands such as 301–350 are not exact places, and "=" marks a tie. "In Australia" is the position among Australian universities in the same edition; universities sharing a band or a tie share a position. Each ranking measures different things, mostly research, and none of them is combined here. *Our copy of QS 2027 covers ranks 1–300 only.
