About Edith Cowan University
Edith Cowan University is a public university in Western Australia, named after Edith Cowan, the first woman elected to an Australian parliament. Its origins lie in Claremont Teachers College, opened in 1902. Several teacher-training colleges were combined in 1981 as the Western Australian College of Advanced Education, which became the university in 1991.
The headquarters are at Joondalup in Perth's north, with a regional campus at Bunbury in the South West. A city campus in central Perth began classes in 2026, and the older Mount Lawley campus is being wound down. Mount Lawley has been home to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, which remains a distinctive part of the university. Its course strengths include teacher education, nursing and health, performing arts, business, and environmental science, and it has a research profile in cybersecurity.

Ranks as published; bands such as 301–350 are not exact places, and "=" marks a tie. "In Australia" is the position among Australian universities in the same edition; universities sharing a band or a tie share a position. Each ranking measures different things, mostly research, and none of them is combined here. *Our copy of QS 2027 covers ranks 1–300 only.
