About Murdoch University
Murdoch University is a public university in Perth, Western Australia's second public university. It was established in 1973 and named after Sir Walter Murdoch, a long-serving professor at the University of Western Australia. Land at Bull Creek was reserved for it from 1962, and the original plan centred on a school of veterinary science. Teaching began in 1975.
The main South Street campus in Perth's southern suburbs is large by area and is home to the state's only veterinary school. There are smaller sites at Rockingham and Mandurah, a campus in Dubai, and a study presence in Singapore. Murdoch is known for veterinary and animal science, environmental and conservation research, health and biomedical work such as the Australian National Phenome Centre, and Indonesian studies. It is a member of the Innovative Research Universities network and has an Aboriginal centre, Kulbardi, on campus.

Ranks as published; bands such as 301–350 are not exact places, and "=" marks a tie. "In Australia" is the position among Australian universities in the same edition; universities sharing a band or a tie share a position. Each ranking measures different things, mostly research, and none of them is combined here. *Our copy of QS 2027 covers ranks 1–300 only.
