About University of Technology Sydney
The University of Technology Sydney, or UTS, is a public university whose main campus sits on Broadway in Ultimo, at the southern edge of Sydney's central business district. It became a university in January 1988, when the New South Wales Institute of Technology, which dated from 1964 and had earlier technical roots, was renamed under new legislation. In 1990 it absorbed other institutions, including Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education.
Its city campus is part of an education, innovation and creative precinct, and the university runs a long-term campus master plan. It organises its teaching into seven faculties, including health, business, science, design and society, engineering and information technology, law, and the Transdisciplinary School. UTS emphasises industry links, practice-oriented courses, Indigenous education and sustainability, and it is a member of the Australian Technology Network.

Ranks as published; bands such as 301–350 are not exact places, and "=" marks a tie. "In Australia" is the position among Australian universities in the same edition; universities sharing a band or a tie share a position. Each ranking measures different things, mostly research, and none of them is combined here. *Our copy of QS 2027 covers ranks 1–300 only.
