About University of the Sunshine Coast
The University of the Sunshine Coast is a public university in south-east Queensland. The state Parliament passed its founding legislation in 1994, and it opened in 1996 as the Sunshine Coast University College before taking its present name in 1999. It is one of the newer Australian universities.
The main campus is at Sippy Downs, designed with the subtropical climate in mind and with a large solar installation. Further campuses serve the wider region at Gympie, Hervey Bay, Caboolture and Petrie in Moreton Bay, the last opened in 2020 as a full-service site. A postgraduate campus operates in Adelaide. Its research focus is described as healthy people and a healthy planet, covering health and nursing, education, business, science and environment, and creative industries. The university is a member of the Regional Universities Network.

Ranks as published; bands such as 301–350 are not exact places, and "=" marks a tie. "In Australia" is the position among Australian universities in the same edition; universities sharing a band or a tie share a position. Each ranking measures different things, mostly research, and none of them is combined here. *Our copy of QS 2027 covers ranks 1–300 only.
